FAQ

Got Questions?

Here are some common questions I’ve gotten, hopefully they can provide a quick answer for you. If you still have any inquiries, feel free to reach out on my contact page!

How much would a commission cost?

The price of a commission will be a total sum of time spent building, painting, and customizing your project, as well as the cost of materials (paints, model kits, LED’s, etc.)

Smaller projects with less in-depth customization will run much cheaper than an extensive redesign would. Reach out with specific details about your idea and I will do my best to work with you on a budget!

How long would a commissioned project take?

This can also vary widely depending on the extent of what you want done and the complexity of the build. If you just wanted a kit built for you, unpainted, out-of-the-box, that could take around a week. If you wanted something customized, the time could be a month or more.

These models often have hundreds of parts, each needing to be individually cut out of sprues, sanded, and treated with a layer of primer, paint, and top-coating. That’s without getting into the more complex painting processes of pre-shading, weathering, or metallic color schemes. This results in many, many, many hours spent at an airbrush station, painting the same few hundred parts multiple times each.

I hope you can understand that complicated projects can take a long time to bring to fruition. I won’t charge you labor costs for months of work, but in return I ask that you exercise patience with me in completing your project. I do have work outside of scale modeling so my time is not all mine, unfortunately.

Shipping Policy?

I have shipped models all over the United States, and have a fast turnaround time when a model is complete.

I spend a lot of time on the models I create, and have a very vested interest in ensuring they arrive to you safely and in one piece. I take extensive care packing my orders so that there is no chance of damage during the shipping process. If any damage occurs over transit, I will be glad to work out a partial refund for your order, but this has never been an issue in 11 years of shipping items.

If you live in another country and want a project commissioned or to buy one of my models, contact me and we can work out shipping rates.

What kinds of projects can I commission you for?

I have a lot of experience working on various hobby-related projects. I can make just about anything you need when it comes to miniatures.

Over the years, I’ve built countless of plastic models, dioramas, acrylic displays, figurines, garage kits, you name it. If you can find a project I can’t build, I would be surprised. Hit me with your best shot!

Can you teach me modeling techniques?

If there is a project that you have in mind that you would like advice about or help with, feel free to reach out to me and I can try my best to assist you.

I don’t really believe in charging money for information, and am happy to share the knowledge I’ve accumulated over the years to new hobbyists.
