If I could pick anything…
I feel like this topic is the #1 thing on my mind nowadays, especially with school coming to an end pretty soon. There’s a million careers that I think I would love, but most of them are not realistic or are dying industries.
#1 – Artist / Illustrator
This is what I would love to do the most. I would love to draw my own comics, create cover art, illustrate for children’s books, be a concept artist, character designer, literally anything involving me getting to draw for a living would be incredible.
#2 – Scale Modeler
Although it is a dying art, scale modelers have created some of the most impactful and mind-blowing visuals we have ever seen when it comes to entertainment. Did you like seeing the Star Destroyer in Star Wars? How about the towering city of Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings? What did you think of the megalophobic dystopian scyscrapers in Blade Runner 2049? All of those were miniature scale models that were painstakingly crafted by hand to sell the illusion of something much bigger. What a cool job.
#3 – Audio Engineer
As stated in my ‘Skills’ page, I really love making music with digital audio workspaces. I would love to be able to make tracks for a game, an animation, or even just to put my own little albums together. A lot of the music I listen to on a daily basis is from game soundtracks, and I look up to a lot of amazing composers.
